Student Dress Expectations
Dress Like a Dragon!
At DCES, our Dragons dress with pride! All students are expected to observe a standard of grooming and dress consistent with our mission of being a DCES Dragon. Our dress code helps keep everyone safe and minimizes distractions so all students can focus on learning, growing, and breathing fire into their success!
Here’s how to Dress Like a Dragon each day:
Tops and Shirts: Must be long enough to fully cover shoulders, chest, stomach, back, and undergarments. Coverage should remain in place whether students are seated, standing, or in motion.
Bottoms: Pants, shorts, skirts, and dresses must be long enough to cover the bottom, upper thigh, and undergarments at all times. Dragons make sure their attire provides appropriate coverage when sitting, standing, and moving.
Ready to Learn Attire: Students should not wear pajamas to school (unless it’s a designated spirit day).
Positive and Appropriate: Clothing should display only appropriate words and images that reflect our positive Dragon community.
No Hats Indoors: Hats, hoods, and other head coverings should not be worn unless for medical purposes or religious observances. Designated spirit days may allow hats at times.
Focused on Learning: Dragon attire should support a safe, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment.
When Dragons dress appropriately, they show pride in themselves and their school. Thank you for helping your child Dress Like a Dragon every day!
